Sánchez maintains the investment pulse in the province with 242.9 million against Covid-19

Pedro Sanchez intends to maintain the investment pulse for 2021 to avoid the collapse of the economy of the province of Castellon amid the coronavirus pandemic. With an investment planned in Castellón that will reach 242.9 million euros, the President of the Government aspires to face a crisis in the Covid-19 whose end is not yet seen and whose economic consequences are unpredictable.

The 242.9 million planned for next year in the General State Budget project (PGE) that now must approve Congress of the Deputies, represent practically the same crypto that the President of the Government already contemplated in the failed accounts – they did not obtain sufficient support – for fiscal year 2020. And, again, they represent an important pull with respect to the last PP budgets what, with Mariano Rajoy in 2018, they stayed at 140 million.

The 242 million that the socialist government plans to invest include 38.5 million in direct budgetary investment, such as the 2.6 million for the Provincial Historical Archive, and the 204.4 million that are foreseen in the investment annex through the different autonomous entities such as the Administrator of Railway Infrastructures (Adif), Adif-Alta Speed, Renfe, the Port Authority or Acuamed.

Seran the railroad, especially the Mediterranean Corridor, and the highways which account for a large part of the investment planned by the Government of Pedro Sanchez. Specifically, 195 million for public works.

Only Adif and Renfe will obtain 182 million of euros of total budgets. The investment annex also includes 18 million for PortCastelló which, for the most part, will be used for railway accessibility actions. Specifically, the interior railway bridge will receive 2 million within that item for the institution chaired by Rafa Sima. There are also 3.7 planned for the liquid bulk docks.

In terms of roads, the accounts that the Government plans to approve in the coming weeks record 15 million euros to continue with the work of the N-232 on the 12.8 kilometer section between the Barranco de La Bota and MasÃa La Torreta. There are also 99,990 euros for the preliminary studies of the future A-68 between Ventas de Algorfa and Vinaròs, as well as 200,000 euros for the connection of the A-7 with the Puerto motorway (CS-22) and this road with the South basin of the port of Castellón.

Acuamed, responsible for the water basins, will also receive an economic appropriation of 2.6 million that, for the most part, the work of the Oropesa del Mar desalination plant will continue to be financed. Regarding prisons, there are only 50,000 euros for the Castellón I Reform Plan, while Interior only contemplates 50,000 euros for works of reforms of barracks and police stations in the province.

The planned real investment, which includes actions on roads -including their maintenance -and which reaches 38.5 million euros, is completed with projects such as the new Provincial Historical Archive, which will receive 2.6 next year million, within a budget that reaches 12.3.

Also included in the accounts are 430,000 euros for the protection and recovery of coastal systems on the coast of Castellón as well as the control of the regression of the provincial coastline.

THE PROJECTS

  • Railway (180). The Mediterranean Corridor accounts for a large part of the investment with 174.8 million for Adif. The Vandellòs-Valencia section totals 144.2 million. Renfe obtains 7.6 million.
  • Roads (15.2). The 15 million for the N-232 between MasÃa La Torreta and Barranco de La Bota is the highest heading for roads. There are also 200,000 euros to link the A-7 with the CS-22 and this one with the South Dock.
