Selena Gomez responds to body shaming: “I’m a bit big right now because I enjoyed it during the holidays”

Selena Gomez silenced the trolls who made comments on social media body shaming on her fitness following her appearance with her 9-year-old sister, Gracie, at the 2023 Golden Globes. The actress, 30, was nominated for the Best TV Actress Award for Musical/Comedy Series for Only Murders In The Buildingbut lost to Quinta Brunson in Abbott Elementary.

During the ceremony, she sported a strapless wine-colored Valentino gown with a plunging neckline that featured a bold thigh-high slit.

But the singer has received comments from online trolls about her fitness as she was photographed on the red carpet.

During an Instagram Live video, Selena responded to comments from body shaming received while chatting with her 9-year-old sister, Gracie Elliott Teefey and said: «I’m a bit chunky right now because I enjoyed it over the Christmas break».

The star has always had a complicated relationship with social media and even deleted her account in 2019 so she doesn’t have to deal with the haters. Selena had revealed that she no longer had the app, as her negative comments on her posts had left her “depressed”. But she is now back on social media more fierce than ever and she never misses an opportunity to respond to those who criticize her body.
