Seven-month-old baby who fell from a boat during rescue in Canoas is found dead

Baby Agnes da Silva Vicente, aged seven months, was found dead. The information was confirmed by the child's mother, Gabrielli Vicente, in posts on social media this Sunday (12).

The child had been missing since May 4th, after falling from the boat that was rescuing her and her family from the Harmonia neighborhood, a flooded region in Canoas, Rio Grande do Sul.

The rest of the family managed to save themselves, including Agnes's twin sister.

In a video published on Instagram, Agnes' mother reported that she only found out about her daughter's absence when she arrived at Ulbra University Hospital, where Agnes's twin sister was taken after the rescue. The children were reportedly separated during the rescue.

The search for the baby mobilized volunteers and teams of security forces.

On social media, Agnes' mother stated that there is no one to blame for the child's death.

“I know no one was to blame. Nobody! Much less the people who were willing to save us. To everyone who was giving their lives to save us, all my gratitude. You are my heroes”, said Gabrielli.
