Sex and the City, the actresses break the silence on the accusations against Chris Noth / Mr. Big

The curse of the sequel to Sex and the City (And just like that, on Sky Serie and NOW) continues. To the controversies of the fans on the plot, not only regarding the absence of Samantha, the much more serious ones have been added allegations of harassment that three women have made against Chris Noth (Mr. Big).

Now the leading actresses have broken the silence: Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis have released a joint statement through social media. «We are deeply saddened – reads the statement – to learn the accusations against Chris Noth. We support women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We think it must have been really difficult to do and we admire them for this ».

Meanwhile the actor has just been dumped from the production of The Equalizer (on Sky Investigation and NOW), the crime series with Queen Latifah, after also being dumped by her agency, the A3 Artists Agency, as well as by Peloton, the stationary bike brand that aired a commercial with Noth to stem the stock drop after the infamous farewell scene to her character in and just like that.

All this despite the fact that last week Noth released a statement defining these meetings as consensual. «The accusations against me – he wrote – made by individuals I met years, if not decades ago, are categorically false. These stories might be 30 years or 30 days ago – no always means no – but it’s a line I haven’t crossed. I don’t know why they are digging up all this now, but I do know one thing: I didn’t attack these women. “

The three stories date back to different periods. The first would have taken place in 2004, in an apartment in Los Angeles, after meeting a law firm in the capital of California. The second, which took place in 2015, concerns Noth’s alleged invitation to the New York apartment: the actor, who met the then 25-year-old in a nightclub where she worked, asked the girl to join him at home after dinner. The third dates back to 2010: the woman, then 18, worked in a restaurant and the artist had met her like this.

The media tsunami that considers Mr. Big’s interpreter a predator has sparked accusations of a different kind directed at the cast. Bruno Bozzetto, for example, noticed one of his characters, the Skinny, on one of Carrie’s t-shirts in the sequel to Sex and the City and he did not like it very much (“I feel like plagiarism”). Meanwhile, super star costume designer Patricia Field, currently working on the set of Emily in Paris, he told al Sunday Times who appreciated some (but not all) of the new looks created by designer Molly Rogers. He added that he understands the difficulties of his colleague with this demanding cast (too much): «Sarah Jessica Parker – he said – thinks she knows everything. Cynthia Nixon thinks she knows everything, but she doesn’t. Even today, when I talk to Molly, it’s about Cynthia. And I tell her: ‘I understand what you are going through, I remember it’ ».
