“Silvio”: Rodrigo Faro reveals what he would say to Silvio Santos after the film

The actor and presenter Rodrigo Faro 50, is about to make his film debut as Silvio Santos in the movie “Silvio” which hits theaters on September 12th .

Faro said he wanted to pay tribute to one of the biggest names in TV during his lifetime in a press conference, but that it was not possible, and revealed what he would say to Silvio after he saw the film.

“It is a great source of pride and satisfaction to be able to talk about this project today. The only regret is that he could have watched it. I really wanted to. Then I went up to him and said: ‘So, Silvão, did I get 1% close? So, tell me, did you like it?’. It was something I wanted to do one day,” he said.

Faro also recalled that he received the presenter’s “blessing” to play him in the live cinema on the Silvio Santos Program on December 23, 2018.

Silvio Santos died on August 17, 2024 at the age of 93 due to bronchopneumonia after infection with Influenza (H1N1).

“Silvio” mixes fiction with facts. Starting with the kidnapping of Silvio Santos in 2001, the beginnings of Senor Abravanel’s career, from street vendor to the founding of SBT, are told through flashbacks.

In addition to Faro, two other actors play the presenter, but in other stages of his life: Vinicius Ricci and Felipe Castro . Names like Johnas Oliveira , Polliana Aleixo , Majorie Gerardi and Paul Weevil are also in the cast.
