The step by step treatment

To obtain appreciable results, at least 3 sessions are recommended to be repeated at a distance of 21 days from each other. “Each one lasts about an hour, with a process that begins with a mechanical or enzymatic peeling, which eliminates thickening and prepares the epidermis to better absorb the products used during the subsequent steps”, explains Rafaela Consolini.

With the second step we enter the climax of the procedure. «It consists of micro-perforation of the skin by means of disposable and sterile needles that convey a serum selected on the basis of skin characteristics under the skin, but at a superficial level. It may contain hydrating hyaluronic acid, antioxidant vitamin C or astringent ingredients in case of enlarged pores », says Consolini. To reinforce the action of these ingredients and seal them follows the application of a mask with LED light. “In the end, using a handpiece called Dermapen from which very small needles come out, of a minimum variable length of 0.2 which is increased and adjusted according to the thickness of the skin up to the maximum limit of 2.5 millimeters, which release the colored pigments, now available in 5 shades “, says the expert. «The technique involves all areas of the face and neck, including the most delicate areas around the lips and eyes, where the needles come out at a minimum.

It is not for everyone

The skin on the face must be intact and in good health. “There must be no dermatitis, keloids or deep inflammation, for example. On the other hand, in cases of imperfections such as dilated pores it can prove to be a decisive practice “, explains the operator. In case of particularly reactive epidermis, during pregnancy, breastfeeding, skin diseases should be avoided. «Anyone who has undergone filler or botulinum injections can opt for this procedure. The important thing is that the adjustment period has elapsed, that is 2-3 months after the intervention ”, explains the operator.

Before and after the session

Before the treatment, it is good to go to the salon with skin that has been removed and, above all, already cleansed. Furthermore, it is very important not to expose yourself to the sun for prolonged periods or to have a lamp session in the 7 days preceding the appointment to avoid altering the skin’s melanin levels.

Beware of whoever executes it

Although it is considered a minimally invasive method, it involves a skin micro-perforation. Therefore, it is always better to consult the dermatologist first, the only one who can give a precise evaluation.

Another aspect that should not be underestimated is the preparation of the expert.
