Boston-based Skynet Labs, formerly known as Nebulous, announced its closure due to lack of funds for further development of the project.
CEO David Vorick has announced the closure of Skynet Labs, which developed Skynet’s decentralized platform for cost-effective and high-speed file transfers. The reason for this decision was the lack of funding and the lack of interest from investors.
“We regret to inform you that Skynet Labs was unable to complete the next round of fundraising and will be closed. Fortunately, Skynet as a platform will be able to continue working: all user files will remain online, and key parts of the infrastructure will continue to be actively developed.
Skynet Labs was behind the development of the Sia blockchain. Skynet was built on top of Sia’s cloud storage platform, which has advantages over centralized Amazon Web Services and InterPlanetary File System solutions.
