As it became known, starting next year, smartphones and tablets sold in Russia will use the Yandex search engine for use. The decision was approved by the Russian Government.
To approve the search engine “Yandex”, the operator of which is the limited liability company “Yandex”, <...> used without additional settings (by default).

Since 2017, smartphones and tablets have been offering users in Russia to choose a search engine in the Chrome browser to choose from, including Yandex and Mail.ru. On iOS devices, users also have the option to select a search engine in their default browser.
The changes were made to the order of the Cabinet of Ministers, which was adopted at the end of July 2021. The document will enter into force on January 1 next year
