Many have been waiting for this smartphone, and today it is officially presented. Vivo X Fold is the latest model in the segment of smartphones with a flexible screen. There are two of them, like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3, Huawei Mate X2 and Oppo Find N, but there is one fundamental point (at least for Vivo marketers): both displays, both external and flexible internal, support a frame rate of 120 Hz.

The outer screen is characterized by a diagonal of 6.53 inches and a resolution of Full HD +, the internal flexible one – with a diagonal of 8.03 inches and a resolution of 2160 x 1916 pixels. Both screens are based on OLED panels, both support HDR10 +.
Another feature of the Vivo X Fold is the presence of two fingerprint scanners at once. One is placed under the outer screen, and the other – under the inner one. Moreover, the system is configured so that by unlocking the smartphone with one sensor, you can immediately switch to the second screen – no re-authorization is required.

The developers say that the Vivo X Fold can easily withstand 300,000 folding and unfolding cycles. A smartphone can be folded and unfolded 80 times a day every day for 10 years. Of course, the smartphone will become obsolete faster than it will break.
The inner screen can be installed like a laptop screen – with an opening angle of 60° or 120°. Vivo emphasizes that no crease appears on the screen when unfolded. And on the example of Oppo Find N, we know that this is really possible.
Based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, Vivo X Fold is equipped with a 4600mAh battery supporting 66W wired charging, 50W wireless power and 10W reverse wireless power.

The Zeiss-branded main camera is the highlight of the Vivo X Fold. Perhaps, this model has the best set of modules from all models in the segment. The main sensor is a 50-megapixel Samsung GN5 that debuted last fall (it has an OIS system). There is also a 48-megapixel sensor module with an ultra wide-angle lens, a module with a 12-megapixel Sony IMX663 sensor and a portrait lens, and an 8-megapixel periscope module with 5x optical zoom and optical image stabilization. There are two front cameras – each embedded 16-megapixel in the outer and inner screens.

Vivo X Fold runs on Android 12 with a proprietary OriginOS interface. The smartphone has two color options (black and blue) and two memory configurations: the base one with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage for $1415 and the top one with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage for $1570. Sales in China will start on April 15.
