Snow White: Gal Gadot will be the evil queen in Disney live-action

It was only a matter of time before Disney put in the pipeline the live-action of its very first animated feature, snow-white, and now it seems very close to realizing it. In reality, we have been talking about the project since 2016, but the interpretation has been the subject of discussion several times: partly because, at the beginning, it seemed that Disney wanted to develop the story by focusing on Rose Red, Snow White’s lost sister, and partly because there were other titles, from The beauty and the Beast a The Lion King, to be given priority. Adding prestige to this new live-action that will be directed by Marc Webb, former director of The Amazing Spider-Man, is the engagement of one of the most famous and requested actresses of the moment: the Israeli Gal Gadot, famous for having lent the face to Wonder Woman in the two films directed by Patty Jenkins as well as two other monstrous titles of the DC universe such as Batman vs Superman e Justice League.

Gadot, also protagonist of Red Notice, the new Netflix movie starring Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds available from November 5th, will be involved in the Snow White project not as the protagonist, but as the antagonist. It will be she, in fact, to play Grimilde, the evil queen envious of the beauty of the young woman and ready to do anything to be the most beautiful in the realm. To win the audition to lend the face to Snow White was, however, Rachel Zegler, which we will see soon in the highly anticipated version of West Side Story signed by Steven Spielberg. Needless to say, the curiosity to see this live-action, one of the most anticipated in the Disney universe, is very high. Especially because we have not yet had the opportunity to appreciate Gal Gadot in the role of such an iconic and recognizable villain, so acclaimed by the public that it deserves a spin-off of its own like Maleficent e Cruelties (and may it never be that the idea is not really exploited in the future).

For the actress it is a lucky period: after the international visibility linked to the character of Wonder Woman, more and more productions and fashion brands are trying to grab Gadot as the protagonist and testimonial. And while Murder on the Nile, Kenneth Branagh’s film inspired by the homonymous novel by Agatha Christie, risks not seeing the light very soon due to the sex scandal that overwhelmed the actor Armie Hammer, we are quite certain that to admire Gadot in the role of Grimilde we will have to wait again a bit’. Before the live-action of Snow-white, who hired Benj Pasek and Justin Paul for the soundtrack, we will see, in fact, Peter Pan & Wendy in 2022 on Disney + e The little Mermaid in 2023 at the cinema. Waiting for the remakes of Bambi, Pinocchio e The sword in the Stone.
