Sony has released a fresh update to the system software for the PlayStation 5. Firmware numbered 21.02-04.50.00 is now available to PS5 users worldwide for installation.
As with most firmware updates for Sony consoles, the release notes are minimal and only focus on improving system performance. However, traditionally, renewal can bring internal changes as well. This is evidenced by the impressive size of the update – 914 MB.
Sony explains in the release note:
This system software update improves console performance. ”
New system software is usually automatically loaded onto the console. You can also manually download the latest firmware via the PS5 system settings (Settings> System> System software> System software update).
