Sony has launched a new smartphone Xperia 1 IV with a focus on photography and multimedia – some of the features borrowed from the professional Xperia Pro and Pro-I models. The novelty compares favorably with some predecessors, for example, with a revolutionary continuous zoom: if Mark 3 could only switch between focal lengths of 70 mm and 105 mm, and digital zoom provided intermediate steps, then here the telephoto camera offers a constant optical zoom in the range of 85–125 mm ( approximation from 3.5× to 5×).
Xperia 1 IV received three rear cameras, the most unified in terms of characteristics. All of them are 12 MP, record 4K video at 120 frames per second, are equipped with Optical SteadyShot stabilizer with FlawlessEye, have eye autofocus, can track objects in real time and more. They are complemented by a ToF sensor.
Taking into account the mistakes of the past (Mark 3), Sony has increased the screen brightness by 50%. But the company has not abandoned the 6.5-inch AMOLED with 4K resolution. The clock frequency is 120 Hz.
Special attention is paid to the musical component – the manufacturer could not help but install a 3.5 mm headphone jack, although now this is a rarity among flagships. The company improved the drivers for the front stereo speakers: the volume increased by 10%, but they began to reproduce 20-50% more bass. Wireless technology has also improved: Bluetooth LE Audio is supported (in addition to the usual LDAC codec).
