The violent episodes that shock her South Africa for a week now have caused the death of 212 people, the government announced today Friday (16/7), dramatically increasing the toll of 117 dead that it announced yesterday.
In the Johannesburg district, it broadcasts the APE-MPE, anotherSix deaths were reported, bringing the total number of victims to 32.
In the eastern province of KwaZulu-Natal, where the violence began, another 89 people were added to the death toll, which rose to 180, Minister Hubunjo Nsavheni told reporters.
The Minister stated that the protests and looting in the country are now over and that the situation has “fully stabilized”.
He added that two key highways, including the N3 connecting Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal, have reopened and are fully operational.
