South Korean and US armies carry out joint air exercises

South Korea and the United States have conducted joint air exercises to diversify wartime transportation and improve operational sustainability support capabilities.

South Korea’s Ministry of Defense said the exercises that began on Monday (21) were carried out for three days.

The video released by the ministry this Thursday (24) showed military aircraft dropping military supplies as part of the exercises. The ministry said this exercise deployed a CH-47 Chinook to verify the helicopter’s capabilities.

The drills come amid heightened tensions with North Korea and Russia, as the US and South Korea said they assessed that at least 3,000 North Korean troops were transported by ship to the eastern city of Vladivostok. Russia, in early to mid-October to fight for Russia against Ukraine.
