The main Wall Street indices have modestly started up Wednesday, as investors appear to be on the sidelines as they await further developments around the US stimulus talks. At time of writing, the S&P 500 is up 0.4% on the day at 3,526, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 0.28% at 28,759, and the Nasdaq Composite is up 0.6% at 12,155.

Later in the day, the US Financial Management Service will release the Monthly Budget Statement, but this report is unlikely to have a significant impact on market sentiment.
