SP Civil Police will listen to Unisa students who were naked and simulated masturbation in a university game

The São Paulo Civil Police will hear medical students from the Santo Amaro University (Unisa) who were naked and simulated masturbation during a volleyball match during the university championship in April this year.

The video went viral on social media on September 17, generating outrage over the students’ behavior.

According to the note from the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat, letters were sent to university representatives so that the students involved in the case could be heard. According to the note, the videos were sent to the Criminalistics Institute (IC) and the Civil Police Intelligence Sector for examination.

According to the SSP, the investigation aims to determine whether the crimes of obscene acts and sexual harassment were committed.

The Civil Police reported on September 18 that they had opened an investigation to investigate what happened. The São Carlos General Investigations Department (DIG) is responsible for the case.

About the episode involving medical students

During a women’s volleyball game at a university sports championship, in the interior of São Paulo, Unisa students got naked and simulated masturbation. Despite taking place in April, the video went viral on September 17th.

On September 18, Unisa reported that it had decided to expel the students identified in the images. In the note released by the institution, the university repudiated the action and reported that the case was taken to the authorities.

Students from Centro Universitário São Camilo are also involved. According to other images released, the students dropped their pants during the same game. The institution, however, informed that it would not expel university students, as it could “cause injustice”.

The Ministry of Education even notified the university and asked for clarification on the 18th. The following day, Unisa responded and asked for the process to be archived, as it was already taking expulsion measures.

The most recent demonstration was made by the Sports League of Medicine Athletics of the State of São Paulo (Leamesp). In a statement, the organization expressed its “repudiation and indignation” with the episode, saying it had “zero tolerance for disrespectful, prejudiced and humiliating attitudes”.

The league also argued that it is not responsible for the event in question.
