A military police officer from São Paulo and his brother were shot this Tuesday morning (12), after entering the Cidade Alta community, in Cordovil. The site is part of the Israel Complex, which has experienced weeks of intense conflicts between police and criminals.
According to the Civil Police (38th DP), two men were targeted by criminals after mistakenly accessing Estrada Porto Velho, in Cidade Alta. The information was confirmed by the 16th Battalion (Olaria).
A detachment of the Military Police, which was patrolling Mercado São Sebastião, in Penha, was called to help the injured, hit in the legs by gunfire. The police provided first aid to the victims, and then took them to the Getúlio Vargas State Hospital.
Last week, three criminal police officers from Minas Gerais were shot after mistakenly entering the Cidade Alta community. The agents were escorting prisoners who were being transferred to the Benfica penitentiary.
