The São Paulo Metro Workers’ Union will hold, on the afternoon of this Tuesday (3), a meeting to deliberate on the continuation of the strike that paralyzes 4 Metro lines and 5 of the Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos (CPTM) in the capital and in Metropolitan region.
A CNN the union said that it wants to evaluate a reaction to a notice scheduled for October 10th that provides for the outsourcing of station service and the maintenance of Line 15-Silver monorail trains.
The meeting is scheduled for 6 pm this Tuesday and will only include the participation of metro workers. In addition to the category, CPTM and Sabesp employees are also on strike against the concessions, privatizations and outsourcing proposed by the government of Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans).
Tarcísio highlights political action in strike
During a press conference, the governor linked the strike taking place this Tuesday (3) to a “confusion of unions with political parties”.
“Unfortunately, today we have a confusion of unions with political parties. Parties that show that they are not at all willing to dialogue and that are seeking municipal elections. What will become of a city governed by a person who does not want to talk to the government? Facing important problems demands dialogue”, declared Tarcísio during a press conference.
In a post made on X, formerly known as Twitter, Camila countered Tarcísio and accused the governor of not investing in the state subway and serving the interests of those who want to profit from the state’s public transport.
Political and ideological interests, Mr. Governor, are wanting to sell São Paulo to serve the interests of billionaires who want to profit from public transport while the population suffers from the daily chaos of privatized lines and the lack of investment in the state subway. https://t.co/iRgo0zDgFV
