SP: temperature in the capital is expected to drop 12 degrees between Saturday and Sunday, says Inmet

The maximum temperature in the city of São Paulo could drop by 12 degrees between Saturday (18) and Sunday (19), according to the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet).

For Saturday, the forecast is that thermometers in the capital of São Paulo will fluctuate between 25 and 37 degrees throughout the day. For Sunday, however, the maximum should not exceed 25 degrees. The predicted minimum is 19 degrees.

Between today and tomorrow, Inmet reports that the city will have cloudy skies with isolated rain showers in the afternoon and evening.

On Monday (20), the Black Awareness Day holiday, temperatures are expected to drop even further, remaining between 18 and 23 degrees. The following day, the forecast is that the maximum in the city of São Paulo will rise again, reaching 28 degrees.

Winds of up to 100 km/h

The state Civil Defense warns of the forecast of strong winds for the state of São Paulo between this Friday and Sunday. According to the agency, gusts should vary between 60 and 80 km/h, and could reach up to 100 km/h in some areas.

According to Civil Defense, the winds will be caused by “the sum of heat, humidity and the passage of a cold front”.

Heavy rains

Civil Defense warns of the possibility of rain showers across the state of São Paulo between today and Sunday. According to the agency, the heavy rains will be caused by “the sum of heat with humidity coming from the Amazon and the passage of a cold front”. Lightning and hail are expected.

Together, Greater São Paulo and the regions of Campinas and Sorocaba are expected to accumulate 100 millimeters of rain. In São José dos Campos, Litoral Norte, Vale do Paraíba, Itapeva and Serra da Mantiqueira, the accumulated volume is expected to reach up to 150 millimeters, while in Baixada Santista the expected volume is 120 millimeters.
