Flood-hit towns near Valencia in eastern Spain are scrambling today to clear sewage systems of mud and debris, deploy sandbags and cancel school classes as they brace for another storm approaching region. Two weeks after the worst floods in Spain’s modern history killed more than 200 people, Spain’s weather service AEMET issued an orange alert, the second highest, for heavy or torrential rain expected in the same area tomorrow.
