Stoltenberg appeals to NATO members to provide aid to Ukraine for flood-affected areas

THE Jens Stoltenberg appealed to its members NATO to send “rapid” aid to flood victims in Ukraine and in the flood-prone areas, after the explosion of the dam in Kherson.

Speaking to the ambassadors of 31 countries, the Ukrainian minister informed them about the destruction of the Kakhovka dam and analyzed the problems and needs of the victims.

The Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Center (EADRCC) has compiled a detailed list of Ukraine’s needs. This center coordinates requests and offers of assistance in cases of natural or other disasters.

The needs of the Ukrainian armed forces will be discussed at the meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine (the so-called Ramstein Group) on June 15 at NATO headquarters in Brussels, ahead of the meeting of the Alliance’s defense ministers.
