Singer Jojo Todynho reported having been the target of a series of racist attacks on her social media and went to the Rio de Janeiro police last Tuesday (10) to file a police report. Jojo posted a screenshot of the attacks he received on his social networks.
According to the artist’s lawyer, José Estevam Macedo Lima, the attacks came from a profile on her social network page, with phrases in the comments that contained the expressions: “you don’t know what it’s like to be conservative”, “stop showing and go eat banana” and “it’s only like that because you paid for everything to be removed”.
According to José Estevam, the comments are offensive and discriminatory, caused humiliation and, in theory, constitute the crime of racism.
Furthermore, the lawyer stated that “he will spare no effort in provoking the police authorities to identify and bring to justice the people who are behind the social media profiles carrying out constant attacks on the artist”.
Yes, he added that he is willing to combat any and all acts of haters or trolls on social media that attack the artist, as these acts cause, according to him, “embarrassment, humiliation, shame and undue exposure”.
The police report was registered at the Racial Crimes and Intolerance Offenses Police Station (Decradi).
The Civil Police investigates the case.
