Strong heat hits SP, RJ, MG and two other states until Saturday, says Inmet

The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) issued a red alert, of great danger, for a heat wave this Thursday until Saturday (28) for areas of Goiás, Minas Gerais and São Paulo and throughout Rio de Janeiro and the Federal District .

According to Inmet, in these regions the temperature can be 5 °C above average for a period longer than 5 days.

In Rio Grande do Sul, intense and uninterrupted rains will continue until tomorrow, according to Inmet. The institute warns that this morning the intensity of rain is expected to increase, especially in the west, east and central regions of the state.

According to Inmet, the most affected regions are Campanha Gaúcha and Pelotas, summer grain producing regions, with rainfall above 100 millimeters per day.

This Thursday, the heat wave also reached areas of Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Paraná and Santa Catarina.
