Students dominate suspect in stabbing people at university in Germany

A man suspected of stabbing several people at the Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences in the German city of Hamm, northwest of Germany was dominated by the students, informed the local police this Friday (10).

Four people were injured in the incident, three women and one man, some of them seriously, the organization said. A 34-year-old suspect was arrested.

“Hamm police have a major operation underway in the Hamm-Lippstadt University area. Several people were hit by a knife. The aggressor was arrested. We have a tardy force in place and we ask you to avoid this area,” the city police wrote on their official Twitter account.

After the incident, the situation at the Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences in the German city of Hamm was declared safe.

A spokesperson for the Dortmund Police Department claimed that it is still unclear whether the suspect is affiliated with the university or not.
