In an interview with CNN this Sunday (24), Climatempo meteorologist Paula Soares said that the “sun appears strong in most of the country today”.
According to the meteorologist, an atmospheric blockage has prevented cold fronts from advancing through Brazil, concentrating in the southern region. “Rio Grande do Sul continues with clouds and rain. In Florianópolis and on the coast of Paraná there are also clouds, but it does not rain,” she said.
“Most of Brazil follows this Sunday with a dry air mass and temperatures are high for this time of year standards. We continue with dry and polluted air in the coming days”, he added.
According to Soares, it does not rain in the Southeast, Midwest and South of the North region. In the cities of Manaus, Belém, Macapá, Boa Vista there is a forecast of rain. The meteorologist also warned of persistent rains in the Northeast.
“From Thursday, a stronger cold front will arrive, which will advance towards the Southeast and Midwest”, warned Soares. Despite this, the meteorologist explained that the cold will not be intense and there is no prospect of frost.
