Super Wednesday knocks out markets waiting for higher interest rates; Eletrobras is no longer state-owned

The week begins with expectations about the “super Wednesday”, which will define interest rates in Brazil and the USA. The objective of central banks is the same: to control the inflationary process in their respective countries.

To control the rise in prices, the Federal Senate should vote this Monday (13) the bill that limits the Tax on Circulation of Goods and Services (ICMS) on fuel.

Also this Monday, Eletrobras shares begin to be traded on B3 — the last stage of the operation that will make the company no longer a state-owned company. The government intends to conclude the privatization process this Tuesday (14).

Presented by Thais Herédia and Priscila Yasbek, the CNN Money presents a balance of news issues that influence markets, finances and the direction of society and the dynamics of power in Brazil and in the world.
