Order to form a government after the Parliamentary Elections which gave the majority to the right/far-right bloc, it was given on Monday (19/9) to the leader of the Moderate party Ulf Christerson that the speaker of the parliament of Sweden.
“It was a simple decision” Anders Norlen pointed out, as reported by the Athens News Agency, stressing however that has not set a deadline for the duration of the consultations.
The Moderates, the far-right Sweden Democrats, the Christian Democrats and the Liberals secured 176 seats in the 349-member parliament and they have a marginal majority over the center-left bloc (173 seats).
He will try to form a minority government from which the far-right will be absent
Ulf Kristerson is expected to try to form a minority government, from which the far-right Sweden Democrats and perhaps one more of the bloc’s parties will probably be absent, counting on their parliamentary support.
The election brought an upheaval in Sweden’s political scene, bringing the Sweden Democrats, a party with Nazi/neo-Nazi roots, poised to influence government policy, into second place.
