A total of 40 rescue technicians and seven helicopters rushed to the scene, while the regional prosecutor opened an investigation “to determine the circumstances of this incident”. In fact, according to the Italian agency, experts believe that the high temperatures that are beginning to prevail at this time, may have caused the collapse of the glacier.
It is noted that the Grand Combin massif has three peaks over 4,000 meters, the highest of which is the Combin de Grafeneire at 4,314 meters.
