A 17-year-old boy died during rodeo training last Sunday (19) in Aripuanã, in the interior of Mato Grosso. The boy, identified as Darlison Barbosa de Souza, fell from the bull he was riding and was hit in the chest by one of the animal’s legs, which can weigh more than half a ton.
According to the incident report, the boy was rescued with injuries to his chest, armpit and shoulder, but he did not survive the injuries.
To the police, a relative who was present at the time stated that the accident happened during training so that the participants could participate in a rodeo in the future.
Darlison had previously participated in an ox riding event and, according to reports published on social media, was a great enthusiast of the practice.
No information was released regarding the young man’s burial.
