Teenager dies after goal tackle falls on him at club in São Paulo

A 14-year-old teenager died after a goal post fell on him on Friday night (3) on one of the courts at Clube Hebraica, in Pinheiros, in the west zone of São Paulo.

According to the SSP (Secretary of Public Security) of São Paulo, the accident happened after he had hung on the goal post.

According to the agency’s note, the teenager was rescued at the Hospital das Clínicas, but did not resist. The case was registered as a suspicious death by the 14th Police District (Pinheiros), which asked for expertise.

By means of a note, Clube Hebraica reported that the boy was promptly attended to on site and taken to the ICU (Intensive Care Unit). Initially, he would go to the Samaritan Hospital and the transport doctor decided to go to the Clinics to advance the care.

“There he suffered a cardiac arrest, underwent procedures, but did not resist”, says the note. A doctor from the club accompanied the care and informed the family about the event.

The club reaffirmed in the note that the teenager hung on the beam before it fell on his body. “The court was banned and the entire agenda of events on site was suspended”, added the club.
