Two students and a monitor at the São José Educational Center (CED), in São Sebastião, in the Federal District, were stabbed this Monday morning (4), according to the Military Police.
The corporation states that it was called to respond to the incident at the school. According to reports, a student, during the beginning of classes, stood up and attacked classmates with a sharp weapon in the classroom.
“Due to the quick intervention of the teacher present, the student was immediately detained, avoiding serious injuries among students and staff. The management team acted promptly, calling the Military Police and the Fire Department to ensure safety and service to the school community,” he said in a statement.
According to the investigation, the 15-year-old teenager was apprehended by the police with two knives after the attack. “The police managed to convince the young man to hand himself in, and he was taken to the Children and Adolescents Police Station for the appropriate procedures,” said the police. The case will remain under police investigation.
“The teacher who was in the room immediately detained the student. No students or staff were seriously injured. The management team decided to dispense with classes that would take place in the morning,” added the Federal District Education Department.
The secretariat reiterates that it repudiates any form of violence, inside or outside the school, and reinforces its commitment and effort in the search for elements that allow the facts to be clarified, as well as support for those involved, to guarantee the safety and integrity of the school community.
The São José Educational Center (CED) serves students from the 6th to the 9th year and also operates in the Youth and Adult Education (EJA) modality: elementary 2 and secondary education, according to the Federal District Education Department.
