The weekend in which Valentine’s Day is celebrated will be cold in the city of Rio de Janeiro. On Saturday (11), the capital will have a low of 16 °C, a high of 22 °C and cloudy weather. There is also the possibility of rain throughout the day and at night, according to the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet).
On Sunday (12), the cold increases: the maximum is 21 °C and the minimum, 15 °C. The drop in temperature is the effect of a mass of polar air that approached the Southeast region this week.
According to information from Alerta Rio, the morning of Saturday (11) in the city will have moderate to heavy rain in isolated spots, with strong winds (from 52 km/h to 76 km/h). The numerical models of the system estimate that it rains, on average, 10 mm that day in the whole city. However, with the shower characteristic, the rain may exceed 10 mm in some places.
On Sunday (12), the Rio Alert forecast is for light rain at dawn, and moderate to strong winds in the afternoon. At the beginning of the week, between Monday (13) and Tuesday (14), the sky will vary from cloudy to partially cloudy and there is no forecast of rain. Temperatures will be mild and winds moderate to strong.
