Tesla will ditch expensive showrooms. The company changes its retail strategy again

The company intends to ditch showrooms in trendy shopping malls and focus on more accessible locations, remote fleet management for test drives and delivery centers.

Recall that Tesla itself owns all of its stores, which gives it a freedom of management that is not available to most automakers. But Tesla is a young company that continues to experiment. The company even at one time announced the closure of almost all physical stores, but then changed its mind.

This time, the changes are aimed at reducing the costs associated with exhibition halls. Some locations will be closed, but Tesla says it will not lead to staff cuts. In general, the company continues to move towards online sales, as many Tesla customers place orders for new cars this way.

At the same time, part of the company’s employees will begin to work remotely, helping customers place orders and advising them on various issues.

Tesla intends to use the saved funds to open new delivery centers.
