The “bad gesture” of Prince Harry (and Meghan Markle) towards Charles of England

Harry of England e Meghan Markle have just inaugurated the web page of their foundation, Archewell, and it is already controversial. Because of two photos that form the background of a “Letter for 2021” published on the site. In the pictures appears Meghan child in the arms of mother Doria Ragland, and the little one Harry on the shoulders of mum Diana in Highgrove, Gloucestershire, in July 1986.

In the little letter Harry e Meghan they say they have known compassion and kindness “Thanks to our mothers”. No one was surprised, given Meghan’s bad relations with her father, that there is no hint – neither in words, nor in images – to Thomas Markle. But the fact that Harry has cut out father Carlo appeared, to most, a gratuitous wrong. Royal expert Phil Dampier, author of the book Royally Suited: Harry and Meghan in their own words, he told al Daily Mail“I don’t know what Harry’s relationship is with his father right now, but I’m sure that Carlo is very sad to see so little of his son and, of course, his grandson Archie, which is growing in the United States away from the royal family ».

According to Dampier, part of the reason for Harry to mention only his mother may have to do with Meghan, “who is very close to her mother and now far from her father. He may have thought of her when he decided to speak only of Diana“. The fact is that Harry’s coldness towards father Carlo has been arguing for months. According to the British press, the prince, in California, would even have found a “new father figure”: Canadian musician David Foster, 71 (one less than Charles) with whom he would spend, among other things, Christmas. For Charles of England, cut off from Harry’s new American life and replaced in his role as father, even being “blacked out” by the Archewell site must have been yet another painful affront.
