Originally from Naples but in Paris for years, Peppe Cutraro with her Peppe Pizzeria in Ville Lumière is once again at the top of the list of best pizzerias in Europefollowed in second place by Figured Brothers by Riccardo and Vittorio in Madrid and on the third step from 50 Kalò London, English pizzeria by Ciro Salvo. Here is the podium of 50 Top Pizza Europejust announced in Milan, at the San Babila Theater, packed after two years of remote awards, with sitting in the front row all the best pizza makers of the Old Continent: many Italians but not only, who bear the name of the most loved of the dishes of our country.
A ranking, this one dedicated to the best pizzerias in Europe (in which Italy does not appear because it has an ad hoc list), which tells many things: first of all of an always contemporary tradition, but also of an art – that of the pizzeria – which continues to refine itself with increasingly sophisticated and sustainable proposalsof which the best ambassadors are many young people with the desire to work, to test themselves, to do better and better also thanks to rankings such as 50 Top Pizza that help them emerge and therefore entice them to think big.
50 Top Pizza
Now a fixed appointment, 50 Top Pizza is an online guideavailable for free on www.50toppizza.itdedicated to the best addresses of the year, with rankings dedicated toItalyto the United States and – the most awaited – the world one, which will be unveiled next September and in which the top 25 of 50 Top Europe fall by right. Born from an idea of journalists, experts in gastronomy, Barbara Guerra, Albert Sapere and Luciano Pignataro, who every year recruit critics from the four corners of the planet to select the best addresses and then, anonymously, review them.
The special prizes
The result is leaderboards and also special prizes. Pizza of the Year 2022 – Latteria Sorrentina Award instead goes to Sartoria Panatieri by Rafa Panatieri and Jorge Sastre, from Barcelonaand is a pizza with Cantabrian anchovies, tomato, escarole and olive puree.
