The British Army yesterday, Sunday, regained control of its Twitter and YouTube accounts after a brief cyber attack by hackers that was used to make posts related to cryptocurrencies and Non-Fungible Cryptocurrencies (NFTs).
“We apologize for the temporary interruption in our stream of posts. We will conduct a full investigation and learn from this incident,” said a post on the @BritishArmy Twitter account. The same account had previously featured several posts about NFTs .
The British Army’s YouTube account, which was renamed ‘Ark Invest’ and featured several cryptocurrency-related videos, was also restored to its previous status.
The account’s Twitter feed currently has 362,000 followers, while the YouTube channel has 177,000 users.
Ark Invest is a global investment company. He did not immediately respond to a request for comment sent via email to the company’s website.
