The two Bulgarians, members of the crew of the ship Galaxy Leader, which was hijacked by Yemen’s Houthi rebels, were freed on Wednesday, after more than a year, and returned home today. Captain Lyubomir Chanev and Lieutenant General Daniil Veselinov arrived in Sofia on the government plane, which had been sent to pick them up from the Omani capital, Muscat, on the orders of Bulgarian Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyaskov. Foreign Minister Georgy Georgiev traveled to Oman on the government plane to pick up the two Bulgarian sailors and escort them back. At Sofia airport, they were welcomed by their relatives.
