The Change Device program is breaking the bank – applications until tomorrow

Specifically, applications have been submitted from 740 thousand different households, while it was initially estimated that 250,000 households would be eligible. For these 250,000 households, it has been estimated that the change of electrical appliances will result in a reduction of energy by 30% per year or 200,000 megawatt hours, which means less natural gas by 45 million euros.


It is reminded that after an extension of the deadline for submitting applications to the “Recycle – Change device” program, those interested can submit an application for participation until tomorrow, Friday, July 8.

After the deadline and for three more days, it will be possible to submit registered pending applications.

During this period, it will not be possible to create or cancel an application. This will be followed by the evaluation, ranking of the applications and the announcement of the provisional results.


Applications from interested parties for the replacement of electrical appliances are submitted without supporting documents on the website Beneficiaries already have the possibility to apply for a subsidy for the purchase of less energy-intensive devices, regardless of VAT number.

It is recalled that the subsidy for the purchase of air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers ranges from 135 to 710 euros. Each household that joins the subsidy program has the opportunity to replace up to three electrical appliances (up to two air conditioners, one refrigerator or one freezer) for the main or secondary residence, owned or rented.

Beneficiaries of the program are all households regardless of income.

Subsidy rates

However, the subsidy percentage is given based on income categorization, while the vulnerable, those with many children, single parents, as well as families with a disabled member, are given additional points.

The subsidy amounts are as follows:

· From 5,000 euros and below, the beneficiary is entitled to a 50% subsidy.

· Over 5,000 euros and up to 10,000 euros, the beneficiary is entitled to a 45% subsidy.

· Over 10,000 euros and up to 20,000 euros, the beneficiary is entitled to a 35% subsidy.

· Over 20,000 euros, the beneficiary is entitled to a 30% subsidy.

Those who receive the subsidy will have until September 16 to buy the new devices, while the withdrawal of the old ones will have to be done by September 30.
