“The first round of the Romanian elections could be held again if it is decided to cancel the one on November 24”

The first round of the presidential election in Romania could be held again if the country’s supreme court decides to annul the one held on November 24, the head of the country’s electoral commission pointed out today, Friday 29/11. Toni Grebla noted speaking to Radio Romania Actualitati that a replay of the first round could take place on December 15, with a second round to follow on December 29. The conservative candidate in the presidential elections Cristian Teres had appealed to the Constitutional Court with a request to cancel the vote. Yesterday, that court ordered a recount of the 9.46 million first-round votes before reconvening at 2pm Greek time today to consider his request.
