The head of Xiaomi told when the first car of the company will be released

Xiaomi founder and CEO Lei Jun took part in a QnA session on the Chinese social network Weibo, where he answered questions from users about upcoming events in the company’s activities in the next few years. In particular, the greatest public interest was associated with the launch of the flagship smartphone Xiaomi 12, the company’s proprietary chipsets and a self-developed car.

Xiaomi intends to release two models of smartphones for the flagship Xiaomi 12 series. One of them will be a compact device – for those who prefer one-handed operation, and the other – a giant format device with a capacious battery and a large screen. The smaller variant will compete with the iPhone 13, while the larger variant will compete with the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro will receive MIUI 13 out of the box. In addition, Lei Jun noted that the MIUI team received a lot of feedback from users regarding the shell interface and other software problems, which are currently being actively corrected.

The head of Xiaomi also touched on the topic of its own chipsets. He noted that the company already has three branded chips in its arsenal: Surge S1, Surge C1 and Surge P1. The Chinese giant will continue to develop its own chips in the future to move forward. Xiaomi is doing its utmost in research and development to deliver better products as soon as possible.

As for the Xiaomi Smart Car car brand and the company’s car rumors, there is good news. Xiaomi will launch its first car in 2024, and this is earlier than anticipated. Lei Jun has not confirmed rumors that he will step down as CEO of Xiaomi and focus entirely on Smart Car. Lei Jun said that smartphones are still the main business of the company, and he himself will always have a weakness for mobile devices.
