The (hidden) WhatsApp function to create new stickers

There is something new designed to make our conversations even more lively and colorful and it is available directly within Whatsapp. Indeed, if until now we had to resort to third-party apps for make new sticker extracting parts of photographs and images and then using them in chats, now it is possible to do it in a few moments and without having to download anything.

Finding this new feature reserved for owners of a iPhones but not explicitly listed in the release notes of the latest version made available for iOS, it is once again WABetaInfo: a well-known resource for previews related to the Meta group’s messaging app.

According to what was highlighted by the experts and then demonstrated in various videos posted on YouTube, this novelty allows us to get new stickers with a couple of taps.

How to create a sticker with WhatsApp

Since the procedure requires the use of the function recently introduced in iPhones that allows us to quickly crop an image, it is necessary that the device in use has installed iOS 16 as well as WhatsApp version 23.3.77 or newer.

Therefore, to generate a new sticker, just follow these steps: open the iPhone gallery and choose a photograph from which to extrapolate a sticker, make a long press on the point of interest that we want to cut out e tap on Copy: if it does not appear, just repeat this last step a second time. Subsequently, open the WhatsApp chat where you want to send the new sticker and, after tapping in the text entry field, select Paste: WhatsApp will automatically ask you for confirmation to send the new personalized sticker. After sending, it will automatically be stored in the application’s sticker collection.

There is nothing left to do but test this novelty and enrich conversations with friends and relatives with lots of new and fun stickers.
