It reiterates the Turkish position that “a lasting peace can only be achieved by the creation of an independent, sovereign and geographically unified Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the 1967 borders.”
Regarding the developments in the Caucasus, the National Security Council “assessed the completion of the negotiations for the agreement of a permanent peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia and the normalization of our relations with Armenia in this context, as well as the efforts of actors outside region to intervene in the matter”.
“The developments, which had a negative impact on international security, confirmed the justification of Turkey’s efforts to ensure a climate of peace and stability in a wide geographical area that stretches from the Black Sea to Africa, from the Caucasus to the Balkans,” the National Security Council.
It also states that “Turkey will continue to take initiatives proactively in order to prevent tensions from turning into crises and to stop conflicts before they spread.”
In the same announcement, reference is also made to the operations carried out “at home and abroad, against all kinds of threats and dangers against our national unity and solidarity and our survival, against terrorist organizations”.
