The messages with far-right football fans, the racist references and the resignation in Italy

Paolo Signorelli, spokesman for the Italian Minister of Agriculture in Italy, Francesco Lollobrigida, has submitted his resignation, according to a report today in the Rome newspaper Il Foglio. Signorelli’s decision is connected to revelations of the past days, after which he had already announced that he would temporarily stop exercising his duties. As the newspaper La Repubblica revealed shortly before the European elections, in an exchange of messages with far-right football fans six years ago, the resigned representative of the Minister of Agriculture had proceeded with anti-Semitic characterizations against fans of the Roma team and had spoken favorably of persons connected with organized crime in the Italian capital.
