The Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Russia agreed to launch the experimental regime for the ban on cryptocurrency transactions to unskilled investors.

Deputy Minister of Finance Ivan Chebeskov assured that the authorities are striving to withdraw the Russian market of digital assets from the “gray zone”.

“We did not just support this idea, but are actively working on it along with the Central Bank. Our position has always been that the digital currency market was as settled and legalized, ”the official said.

The experimental legal regime, within the framework of which cryptocurrency trading in Russia will be allowed, will control the Central Bank. According to the deputy minister, this approach will ensure effectiveness, minimize violations and will become an “important stage in the way to the full legalization of cryptocurrencies in the country”.

Earlier, the Bank of Russia invited the government to create an experimental legal regime for a period of three years, within the framework of which the opportunity to buy and sell cryptocurrency will be given only to a limited circle of “supercalled investors”. We are talking about participants in the investment market who placed securities and deposits worth more than 100 million rubles or received more than 50 million rubles for 2024.
