The MIUI 13 interface was shown in the video. First details on the redesign and new features

This month, a high-profile premiere from Xiaomi is expected – the release of a large-scale MIUI 13 update, which will replace MIUI 12.5. Until now, the tech giant has managed to keep information about the next version of its proprietary interface a secret, and little is known about it. However, now, on the eve of the alleged announcement, a series of videos showing several new features and design of MIUI 13 have leaked onto the network. Xiaomiui also revealed the logo and a near-real date for the presentation of the firmware.

The MIUI 13 logo appeared in the source code of the Xiaomi Service 13.0.3.0 app. The font of the name is made in the same style as the previous generations of MIUI, but the icon is radically different from the volumetric and glass numbers of MIUI 12.5. The MIUI 13 logo is based on flat numbers with chopped edges and clear shades. The color palette itself has become noticeably brighter.

The first innovation, according to the leak, is called “infinite scrolling.” The function will automatically return the user to the original home screen page after he has scrolled through all of them.

Similar to Samsung’s One UI, MIUI 13 will offer Smart Toolbox. This is the ability to bring up a compact sidebar anywhere, giving access to other options and applications. The gesture works from the side of the screen.

Redesigned widgets will also be an integral part of MIUI 13. A leak from Xiaomiui provides a first look at them. By the way, in the implementation of Xiaomi, widgets for Android applications strongly resemble iOS – the same rounded shapes, similar sizes and type of information display.

According to Xiaomi founder Lei Jun, MIUI 13 will bring many changes to the experience with Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO smartphones. In addition, he previously announced the release dates – the firmware will be available before the end of 2021. Xiaomiui’s information matches them and indicates that MIUI 13 will be officially unveiled on December 28. According to other sources, the firmware will also receive fresh fonts and animations, redrawn icons and new wallpapers.
