For example Galileo Reposo, the Pastry Chef of Peck, the mecca of Milanese haute cuisine, has paid homage to the world of wine with an elegant grape-shaped egg, the Clivati pastry shop (also in Milan) has instead thought of eggs in the shape of exotic fruits with bright tropical colors, while Paolo Griffa, Executive Chef of the Grand Hotel Royal and Golf in Courmayeur and starred Chef of the Petit Royal has created an egg bomb, which is broken with a hammer handmade by a craftsman from Valle d’Aosta that contains “explosive” surprises (for example, a small trip).
In Naples, then, for the 700th anniversary of Dante’s death, the historic Gay-Odin Chocolate Factory dedicates the traditional giant egg of the house to the Supreme Poet: a fine cocoa sculpture by 350 kg of weight for two and a half meters high.
There are also many new proposals for purists, with eggs with very high percentages of dark chocolate made with fine and sustainable cocoa, or for those who love new flavors, such as Boer-flavored eggs, salted caramel, pink chocolate, or figs.
