Went up to 13 the number of municipalities that declared an emergency, in Santa Catarina, due to to heavy rain which reached the state coast last Thursday (16).
According to Civil Defense, 1,039 people are homeless and 1,520 displaced. The situation has worsened with the increase in warnings of landslides and flooding.
The National Center for Natural Disaster Monitoring and Alerts (Cemaden) issued 52 alerts of disaster in the state, being 32 of them recorded only on the night of the 16th.
Five cities are at high risk of landslides and flooding, with the capital Florianópolis standing out for its risk “very high ” of flooding.

Civil Defense has been working intensely on monitoring the affected areas and sending humanitarian assistance which has already reached locations such as Biguaçu, Camboriú, Itapema, Porto Belo and Tijucas .
The authorities continue to monitor the evolution of the situation, and reinforce the importance of population pay attention to risk warnings .
