The issue of the return of the Parthenon Sculptures was discussed in the framework of the 24th Session of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Return of Cultural Property to the Countries of Origin (ICPRCP), which concluded its work yesterday. The issue, as informed by the relevant announcement of the Ministry of Culture (MoC), has been consistently on the agenda of the Intergovernmental Committee for 40 years. “The Greek delegation presented in detail and thoroughly the history of the case and Greece's positions on the issue of the Parthenon Sculptures,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says in its announcement.
