The Patriarch of the Serbs, Porphyrios, is positive for the coronavirus

THE Serbian Orthodox Church announced that the Patriarch Porphyrios found positive in coronavirus. “The patriarch has very mild symptoms of viral infection, has been prescribed appropriate treatment and is taking all epidemiological measures,” the statement said.

The Serbian Orthodox Church also states that “if the test is positive for the SARS-CoV2 virus, based on a specific protocol and with the advice of his doctor, the Patriarch will spend the next few days in home treatment.”

The 60-year-old Patriarch during Christmas, who in Serbia celebrated on January 7, he officiated at the Holy Savvas Church in Belgrade, while the day before yesterday he attended the celebrations of the anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Serbia in the Bosnian town of Banja Luka, according to the APE-MPE.

During the holidays in Serbia, the Church did not follow the sanitary protocol to prevent the transmission of the virus. The temples were full of believers and almost no one wore a protective mask.
