On the page dedicated to the achievement of the Perseverance rover, information has been published that the rover has finally begun to move on the surface of the Red Planet.
A few hours ago, Perseverance confirmed that it made the first test drive, moving about 5 meters. The rover’s creators added that this is just the beginning, as there is a long road ahead for Perseverance.
Perseverance also sent a new high-resolution photograph back to Earth showing the rover itself and the footprints it left on the planet’s surface.

The Atlas V launch vehicle with the Perseverance rover was launched from the Cape Canaveral launch site in Florida on July 30 last year. In mid-February, the device landed on Mars. Last week, the Perseverance rover sent back to Earth the first high-resolution panorama of Mars, which was taken using the Mastcam-Z instrument.
Perseverance should be on Mars for 687 days.
